The Glass House
Dance Ahead
Choreographed by Zoë Gadd & Adam Russell - 2016
A piece of contemporary dance theatre on the themes of poverty, the vulgarity of bourgeois spending, and the social isolation caused by the wealth gap. Over three weeks in August Dance Ahead will work intensively to develop a full-length production that further explores the existing themes. This production comes at a time when class systems and social division are extremely prominent within British society. Our cross generational community cast will work alongside professional performers and artists under the guidance of the director & choreographer to devise original choreography inspired by archetypes and personal experience of social trends. As access to live professional dance performance is limited in Carlisle, The Glass House is providing an opportunity to further establish our work. The process will culminates in the presentation of high quality performance to local communities that will hopefully inspire audiences to get involved and immerse themselves in the many rewarding benefits that theatre has to offer.
